Senior Spotlight

Christin Lashly

"Christin is definitely a dominant athlete," states softball coach, Reese Porter, about Christin Lashly, 17, EHS Class of 2010. Achieving All-Conference and Honorable Mentions since her freshman year, "she is very versatile, playing any position. She was instrumental in our team playing at such a high level." Christin is "hard-working, from the beginning, to being now a totally different player," adds volleyball coach, Shari Tune. Christin helped take her team to Second in State her junior year, and was a senior All-Conference. Christin was on the Shockers 17 first place team, gold division, at the Lauren T. Wheeler Memorial Tournament in March 2008. She played post position on the basketball team for two years. Christin is on the yearbook staff this year and was on Student Council two years. She was a Homecoming Queen candidate her sophomore year. In the arts field, Christin leaves behind a ceiling painting in the math room and in the Eminence Area Arts Council's ninth annual Student Art Competition she earned a Third in the miscellaneous various mediums category. She also played trumpet in the band her freshman year, something she really enjoyed and wished she had had more time for. Jobs Christin has held include one summer at Captain Jack's coffee shop, housekeeping at River's Edge Resort, and waitressing at Ozark Orchard. She has family in California and has also traveled to Florida. "Having a good time and playing poker with family and friends," are the pastimes Christin says she enjoys.

Chere Dixon and Ron Lashly are Christin's parents. She has one sister, Jacy, 16, and one brother, Ronald, 13.
