Della C. Bailey Della Cornelia Bailey was born June 7, 1911 at Eminence, MO the daughter of George Washington Nash and Mary Ellen (Dixon) Nash. She passed away May 10, 2008 at Rolla, MO at the age of 96 years. She was united in marriage to Leonard E. Bailey on December 24, 1924 at Eminence, MO and to this union six children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard; two sons Earl Gene Bailey and James Odell Bailey; five brothers Clifford, Jasper, Harley, William, and Hurley; and two sisters Nora and Vytrolith. She is survived by one son David Lindell Bailey of Birch Tree, MO; three daughters Donna Wittman of Key Largo, FL; Sharon DeIbero of Rolla, MO; and Debra Midiri and husband Tony of Wright City, MO; 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Della's first love was family & friends. Her second was writing journals on current events, containing information about the latest wars, presidential elections, space flights and world disasters. She also kept journals on her many trips and adventures that she began later in life. Della's life was full raising her family until she was 50. She then went to work for Dr. Penton Wilson in Eminence as his medical assistant. She was instrumental in building and developing the Fellowship Tabernacle Church in West Eminence, and was superintendent for many years. She was a member of the South Central Assemblies of God Organization. As she approached her late 60's & early 70's, she began a self-renewal. She studied art & left some beautiful paintings for the enjoyment of her family. She studied and received her GED and Driver's license, began traveling and even pierced her ears! She loved life, and life loved her. She found something of interest and enjoyment in each day. She has left each of us with a fond memory of a remarkable and loving lady. Della's greatest love is Jesus, with whom she has chosen to spend the rest of eternity, and in him, can enjoy all things forever. God Speed... Mary Ellen Cooley was born September 8, 1928 in Shannon County, MO the daughter of George Dixon and Nora (Bailey) Dixon. She passed away May 5, 2008 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 79 years. She was united in marriage to Ora Alvin Cooley on August 10, 1946 at Rolla, MO and to this union three daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Ora Alvin Cooley and one brother George Elmer Dixon. She is survived by her three daughters Pam Slaton of Eminence, MO; Brenda Jernigan and husband David of St. Louis, MO and Beverly Jernigan and husband Larry of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren Scott Culbreth, Jodie Wilson, Brian Cooley, Jeffrey Cooley and Jay Jernigan; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mary Ellen attended school in the Eminence area. In 1952, Mary Ellen and Ora moved to St. Louis, MO where they lived for several years. In the early 1970's Mary Ellen and Ora moved back to Eminence when Ora retired, and bought the Sinclair Station. Mary Ellen helped Ora at the Station until they retired in 1985. After retirement, Mary Ellen worked at the Eminence Grade School for six years. She and Ora also worked at the trail rides. Mary Ellen enjoyed traveling with her three daughters, spending time with them, and shopping. She loved being at home, gardening and fishing. Mary Ellen loved the country way of life. Graveside services were held Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the New Eminence Cemetery in Eminence, MO with Rev. David Fowler officiating under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home in Eminence, MO.
Leslie A. Ellerman, age 86 of Wellington, CO died Wed. May 7, 2008 at home in his easy chair. Les was born January 8, 1922 to Albert & Laura (Wallace) Ellerman in Alley Springs, Missouri. His early years were spent in Missouri. In 1942 Les hitchhiked to Wyoming and worked on the Tarkeo Ranch west of Laramie, WY for the summer. He headed back to Missouri when he knew his draft was eminent. He was drafted into the Army/Air Force during WWII at Jefferson Barrack Missouri November 1942. He did his basic at Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne, WY. He spent a little over 3 years defending America. He spent 6 months in the islands. While on Tinian Island with the 509th Composite Group he helped with the building of an air strip for the big bombers to land on. The Enola Gay took off from this location. He married Loeta (Asplin) Jan. 25, 1945 in Salem, Arkansas. They had 4 children. They moved to Wyoming in 1947, where Les worked in the timber business. They also lived in Walden, CO., New Mexico, Cowdrey, CO, Encampment, WY, and in 1962 he moved his family to La Porte, CO where he spent the next 31 years. He will be fondly remembered for the subtle and not so subtle practical jokes that he played every chance he got. No one was left out. He loved the outdoors. He spent most of his working life in the timber industry and construction. He also drove truck for a good many years. His first wife Loeta passed away in August 1979. He married Gladys A. (Nauta) Grandt of La Porte, December 4, 1981. They moved to the Waverly area in 1992. He is survived by his wife Gladys of 26 years, 4 children; Gary Ellerman (Kathy) of Livermore, Patricia Moritz (Jerry) of Ft. Collins, Wendell Ellerman (Kathy) of Palisade, CO and Sandra White (Mike) of La Porte, 2 step-sons; Greg Grandt of OK, and Jerry Grandt of Ft. Collins, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grand children and 7 g-grandchildren and sisters, Charlene Plowman and Maxine Fry of Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loeta (Asplin) Ellerman in August 1979., his parents, Albert Ellerman and Laura Ellerman Stevens, and sisters, Nadine Ellerman and Juanita Files of Missouri and step-son, Bert L. Grandt. Les loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and the many other children who also considered him grandpa. Les loved to hunt and fish. His favorite was camping. When at home, he liked to mechanic and woodwork, which he did with pride. He gave most of his projects away. He was loved greatly and will be missed. A memorial service will be held, Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Chapel, 8426 S. Highway 287. Interment will follow with military honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colorado Talking Book Library, 180 Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80226 in his memory. Robert Raymond Redlich & L. Rae "Esther" Redlich Robert R. Redlich was born February 9, 1926, at Washington, D.C., the son of George Herman Redlich and Mazie Lorena (Moore) Redlich. He passed away April 24, 2008, at Cox Health South, Springfield, MO, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 82 years. Lavania Rae "Esther" Redlich was born November 1, 1935, at Pine Bluff, WY the daughter of Raymond Melvin Cooper and Anna Lea (Rockwell) Cooper. She passed away April 30, 2008, at Cox Health South after a short illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She lived 72 years sharing and spreading her love. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps from October 19, 1943, until he was honorably discharged on February 29, 1945. Robert served in the Central Pacific area during World War II. Robert was a Purple Heart recipient for being wounded in action on August 15, 1944, in the Asiatic Pacific area. He was recognized for, "gallant service rendered to our beloved country," and commended as being a fine example of an American. A credit to his country. Robert and Rae were united in marriage on December 13, 1979, at Tucson, AZ. They met as neighbors at Mountain View, MO in 1945. Rae has been known to say that she loved him even then as a young girl. Their lives led them in separate directions but brought them back together to share almost 30 years of happiness. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward L. Redlich. Rae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and one brother Billy Ray Cooper. They are survived by their children DiAnna Brothers and husband Roger of Dix, NE and Mike Redlich and wife Kim of Ellington, MO; Robert's brother George H. Redlich, Jr. and wife Patsy of Mountain View, MO: Rae's four sisters: Patricia A. Smith of Springfield, MO; Janet Elam and husband Bob of Mountain View, MO; Cora Lea Taylor of St. Helena, SC; Mary Lou Lemond and husband Richard of Lafayette, LA and one brother James Gatchel and wife Susie of Forest City, AR. Four grandchildren: Tad Rezek and wife Paula of Lincoln, NE; Tony Rezek and wife Stacy of Olathe, KS; Caroline Olson and Michael "Cooper" Redlich of Ellington, MO. Five great-grandchildren: Dustin, Colton and Esten Rezek of Lincoln, Ne; and Evan and Quin Rezek of Olathe, KS. And many much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rae and Robert owned and operated R & R Art Supply in Mountain View for several years. Robert was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans; Blinded Veterans Association and V.F.W. Post 3009 Mountain View. Rae was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, MO. Robert and Rae were both members of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and the Art Council. Donations in memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Blinded Veterans Association. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church at Mountain View, MO with Rev. James McCullan officiating. The couple was buried together at Mountain View Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View, MO.

Ann Louise Boyer Anna Louise Bone was born January 8, 1935 at Greenville, IL to Otha and Esther (Elsworth) Bone. She departed this life on May 7, 2008 in Springfield, MO at the age of 73 years. She was united in marriage to James Boyer on November 12, 1970 at Eminence, MO. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Otha and Esther Bone ;one son Alex Boyer; two brothers Jimmy Bone and Johnny Bone; and four sisters Esther Heath, Francis Butler, Mable Bone and Lee Bone. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband James of the home; six sons Johnny Ray Boyd and wife Marsha of Moscow Mills, MO, Danny Boyer and Barbie of Salem, MO, Mike Boyer and Wife Juaquita of Winona, MO, Billy Boyer and wife Tracy of Steelville, MO and James Boyer, Jr. and wife Donna of Mountain View, MO; four daughters Brenda Ann Boyd of Lee's Summit, MO, Patty Jean Redd and husband William of Atwater, OH, Teresa Francis and husband Jim of Mountain View, MO and Tina Louise Hopper and husband Bill of Cuba, MO; two sisters Betty Roth and husband Amos of French Village, MO and Irma Wertz and husband Otto of Greenville, IL; 26 grandchildren Britton, Sarah, Traci, Robert, Christopher, Kimberly, A.J., James, Casey, Destiny, Danny Jr., Frank, Matthew, Caleb, Tyler, Ashlyn, Austin, Cody, Jamie, Harley, Billy Jean, Gary, Josh, Kayla, Cappy and Micah; 15 great grandchildren and a host of many other family and friends. Ann was baptized in the Baptist church years ago. She enjoyed watching Billy Graham services on TV when she could. Ann loved to go coon hunting, fishing and camping when her health allowed. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower garden. Ann was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her kids. She loved her grandchildren dearly. Ann will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Virgil Henry Colter was born October 20, 1928 at West Plains, MO the son of James Curtis Colter and Lillie (Holden) Colter. He departed from this life May 9, 2008 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 79 years. He was united in marriage to Lois Randolph and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, four brothers Sammy, Everett, Seborn, and Earl Chester; and two sisters Imogene and Letha. He is survived by his two sons Rexall Colter of Mountain View, MO and Randy Colter and wife Brenda of Mountain View, MO; one daughter Rachel Thomure and husband Brad of New Hamburg, MO; three sisters Stella Tapley of Mountain View, MO; Mary Gall of Mountain View, MO; and Clara Jean Nicklin of California; six grandchildren Brandi, Becca, Ryan, Stephanie, Trina, and Deana; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends. Virgil received his education at Oak Ridge School near the Eleven Point River. He served in the United States Army from February 1948 until February 1952 when he was honorably discharged. During his time in the United States Army he received the Occupation Medal (Japan). He enjoyed many hobbies. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and working in the garden. He loved spoiling his grandkids and spending time with family and friends most. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Nedra Faye Hanebrink (nee Snelson), age 87, passed away at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Ozark, Missouri. She was the wife of the late August Hanebrink; she was the mother of Sandra Tompkins and her husband Robert, the grandmother of Robin Hilliar and Steve Tompkins; the great grandmother of Kyle and Katherine Hilliar and great-great grandmother of Kaytlin and Kameron Hilliar; the sister of Florene Newman; and was a aunt, cousin and friend. Graveside services were held Monday, May 12, 2008 in Jefferson Barracks Memorial Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel in Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Springfield or any no kill shelter would be appreciated.
Diane Marie Ledgerwood was born on January 16, 1965 at Riverside, California to Roy Racine and Josephine (Winchester) Racine. She was taken from us on May 8, 2008, she was only 43 years old. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Julian Winchester of Van Buren, Missouri, Grandfather and Grandmother Racine of Riverside, California and her mother Josephine (Winchester) Johnston of Winona, Missouri. She is survived by her grandmother Martha Winchester of Van Buren, Missouri, her fiance Albert Shomaker of Winona, Missouri and his sons, Albert W. Shomaker III, Adam L. Shomaker and Richard D. Shomaker; long time estranged husband, Curtis Ledgerwood of Birch Tree, Missouri, her sister Julie Lindsey, brother Shawn M. Halferty and wife Becki of Winona, Missouri, brother Kelly R. Halferty and wife Heather currently stationed at Andrews AFB in Guam, her nephews Zachariah Halferty, Jacob Lindsey of Winona, Missouri, and Fisher Halferty currently in Guam, neices Destiny Halferty, Aerial Halftery of Winona and Kelci Halferty currently in Guam, her stepdad Terry Halferty and stepdad Dennis Johnston of Winona, Missouri, as well as a host of other family and friends. Diane attended Mineral Area College and graduated from Drury College in 2006 with a Bacholoriate degree and went on to become a counselor at Turning Leaf Adult Center in West Plains, Missouri. Her life as a Native American Medicine woman helped many people both native and non native through their problems. Her smile and words of wisdom was a beacon of light for all to see, hear and experience. She was a very giving and loving woman who took many children, related and unrelated into her home and gave them the love and understanding that they needed. She attended Powwows and Native ceremonies that had also helped her in her path. She was always ready and willing to go the extra mile for her community. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Jerry Leslie Powell was born September 27, 1941 at Atlanta, GA the son of Walter Brian Powell and Thelma Elizabeth (Mason) Powell. He passed away May 10, 2008 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister Sue Powell. He is survived by his former wife Margaret Powell of Willow Springs, MO; one son Jess Porter of Willow Springs, MO; five daughters Leslie Ann Powell of Woodstock, GA, Renee Powell-Heirs and husband Thomas of Newnan, GA; Kathy Ann Frommel of Mountain View, MO; Deborah Lynn Hall and husband Harold of Fayetteville, GA; and Debora Marchesini of Springfield, MO; one brother Roger Powell of Mountain View, MO; six grandchildren Lesly Wilterding and wife Summer, Sara Truax and husband Darren, Dillon Porter, Jeramie Hall, Sarah Hall, and Shelby Hall; five great grandchildren Haley Wilterding, Olivia Wilterding, Jonah Wilterding, Heidi Truax, and Madison Truax; and a host of other family and friends. Jerry graduated from high school and attended vocation school. He served in the United States Navy from September 1962 until October 1968, and then transferred into the Naval Reserves. During his time in the US Navy, Jerry served aboard the USS Boxer, where he worked as a flagman. Jerry worked at Southwest in West Plains, MO until he retired. He was of the Baptist faith. Jerry had a sense of humor, which could sometimes be dry, and he was always laughing. He was one of the handiest men in the world. He was most creative, and was talented in oil painting and drawing. He was also very talented working with wood, including carving, and building furniture. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Jerry was a great provider and worked very hard all of his life. He was a great father, and a wonderful grandfather. Jerry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Service arrangements are pending. Naomi Pauline Reeves was born November 7, 1922 at Flat River, MO the daughter of John Henry Marion and Maggie Mae Marion. She passed away May 7, 2008 at Birch Tree, MO at the age of 85 years. She was united in marriage to Paul Reeves on May 1, 1993 at Winona, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband Paul Reeves of Eminence, MO; one son Michael Porter of Eminence, MO; four daughters Janet Lyles of Festus, MO, Betty Briscoe of St. Louis, MO, Diana Crawford and husband Joseph of Jacksonville, FL, and Pamela Journey of Winona, MO; one sister Ruth Huck of Farmington, MO; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Naomi attended the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Eminence, MO. She was employed at McDonald-Douglass Air in St. Louis, MO for several years. She enjoyed doing crafts and going fishing. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Interment was in Annapolis Cemetery at Annapolis, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence, MO. |

Lukas John Curtner. He was born at 4:07 p.m. May 3 at OMC. He weighed 7
lbs., 11 1/2 oz., and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Vester and Summer
Crider of Eminence; Melody Nichols and John and Cindy Curtner, all of
Hartville. Eddie M. Rodriguez Joey and Maggie Rodriguez of Birch Tree are the parents of a baby boy,
Eddie M. He was born at 11 a.m. April 22 at Ozarks Medical Center (OMC). He
weighed 8 lbs., 4 oz., and was 21 inches long. Siblings are Tatiana, 17;
Joey Jr., 10; Marcos, 8, and Jay, 6. Grandparents are Leonor and Freddy
Vargas, Sergio and Tina Duran and Josie Rodriguez, all of Birch Tree. Aiden Troy Sullivan Randal and Smokey Sullivan of Winona are the parents of a baby boy, Aiden
Troy. He was born at 2:11 p.m. April 30 at OMC. He weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz.,
and was 22 inches long. His sibling is Dawson, 2. Grandparents are Troy and
Carleen Norris of Winona and Tom and Avon Sullivan of West Plains. |
