EMINENCE R-1 SCHOOL DISTRICT

BOARD OF EDUCATION FILING NOTICE

The Eminence R-1 Board of Education has announced the filing dates for those persons interested in becoming members of the Board of Education. The dates are Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. through Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. There are two positions open; each position is a three year term. The successful candidates will, by law, be required to complete 16 hours of School Board Member Training.

Qualifications for the position are: a citizen of the United States, resident tax payer of the Eminence R-1 School District, have resided in the state of Missouri for one year preceding the election, and be at least 24 years of age.

Interested candidates may sign up in the Superintendent's office during regular office hours, 8:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of December 24, 2018 through January 1, 2019, and any inclement weather day. The office will stay open on January 15, 2019 until 5:00 p.m. The election will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

 


TIMBER FOR SALE

The Missouri Department of Conservation intends to sell forest products to companies and/or entities that have proper training. Accordingly, the Missouri Department of Conservation will only accept and enter into contracts in which the individual who is designated to sign timber sale contracts and the individual responsible for supervision of the logging have both successfully completed training, and maintained certification, pursuant to the MFPA Professional Timber Harvester Training, or its approved equivalent.

The Missouri Department of Conservation will accept bids on two separate timber sales located in the Sunklands Conservation Area, Compartment 34. The sale has an estimated 432,540 bd. ft. of mixed oak and pine sawtimber by the Int'l 1/4 Inch Tree Scale and 42 cords mixed blockwood on 260 acres. The forest products are in Township 30 North, Range 5W, Section(s) 1,2,3, 10, 11, and 12 in Shannon County, Missouri. A tour of the areas will be conducted at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 beginning at the Forestry Office, 19722 Hwy 19, Eminence, MO 65466. Prospective bidders or their representative MUST attend the tour in its entirety beginning at 9:00 AM. sharp to obtain a bid form. Attendees may only represent one bidder. Compared to last week's light run, steer calves under 550 lbs traded 3.00-6.00 higher while heavier weights were 5.00-10.00 higher. Heifer calves traded steady to 5.00 higher. There were too few yearlings last week for an adequate comparison however undertones were higher. Demand was good on a heavy supply which included a 206 hd draft of 835 lbs steers. This week's steer weighted average was 153.64 which was 7.26 higher than last week while the heifer weighted average of 134.05 was 3.02 higher than a week ago. Feeder cattle supply included 56 percent Steers, 0 percent Dairy Steers, 39 percent Heifers, and 5 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 37 percent.
